The Kraal is off the grid… Catching its own rain water, we run on solar energy, gaz and candles, try to cultivate all our own veggies, breed nguni chickens, and boerpad-cross arab trekking horses, recycle, built our biogas toilet, and hybrid hot-water system and offer activities such as: * Horseback Riding: all levels· * Hikes and Guided Walks: from 3-hours to 3 days safaris to Hluleka Nature reserve· * Bird watching * Taking part in the villages activities: Kholeka’s serves the best traditional Xhosa dishes, Support the children’s art & craft, * Surfing, Snorkeling, Dolphin and whale watching * Sustainable rural development workshops * Holistic workshops - ie Bodytalk systems, nutrition, fengshui Sea Facing Facilities, traditional huts (3units), or Safari tents (1 unit), FRESH SEAFOOD from the local fishermen. Meals description: Restaurant: is at Koleka’s, in the village, delicious traditional xhosa meals, from breakfast to dinner, and take aways. Organic fresh products are available on site, or in the local shops. PLEASE NOTE: Crayfish season re-opens March 2011 – closes October 2011 Bar: We hold a liquor license, yet you can purchase your alcohol in the village. Local facilities: We are located in the heart of South Africa’s beautiful Wild Coast. This truly magical place and The Kraal offer everything you need for an unforgettable adventure or the ultimate relaxation. Whether you want to ride the waves at Shark’s Point, canoe down the Sinangwana River, hike to Hluleka nature reserve, perfect your yoga practice or do absolutely nothing – it is all here: Horseback Riding: we own beautiful horses which we breed and train ourselves; multiple trails are available for riders or all levels. Hikes and Guided Walks: from 3-hours strolls to beautiful waterfalls to 2-day treks to Port St. John’s and Coffee Bay – our local guides will take you as far (or not so far) as you wish to go.
